In general, people know that the carbohydrate is a type of vitamin that we need every day as a source of energy. Usually we get them from food staple such as rice, bread, corn, and various kinds of tubers. However, the fact there are many other types of food rich in carbohydrates, for instances a group of nuts, fruits such as bananas, vegetables such as potatoes and pumpkin, and of course various types of processed food and beverage. we need to recognize various types of food rich in carbohydrates, since each type of carbohydrates has a different effect on our blood sugar level. There are sources of carbohydrates that increase blood sugar quickly (food with high glycemic index). This type of food immediately push our bodies to produce insulin which is working hard to carry and store it, so we quickly run out of steam. There is also another source of carbohydrate that increase blood sugar slowly (food with low glicemic index). This type of diabetes food does not waste insulin hence does not limp body quickly. In general we all know that there are sources of carbohydrates that make us feel hungry right away after the meal. But there are also a source of carbohydrate which can make us feel full longer, so we won’t go for snacks. This second type of carbohydrate is more beneficial for those who want to maintain appearance, avoid risk of heart disease and diabetes, or already suffering from diabetes. However, it does not mean that food or drink that quickly raise blood sugar is useless. When the body’s weak because of low blood sugar or when the athlete is exercising, the body needs food or drink that quickly raise blood sugar. In essence, knowing food’s index glicemic very useful. It also helps you to choose a source of healthy carbohydrates, which is rich in vitamins and minerals. The diabetics can also see there are many diabetes foods which are able to raise blood sugar level than white sugar.

Be able to choose the right foods seems to be a problem that many diabetics faced. It seems like most people feel that they can eat low fat or even low calorie foods, without looking at the carb content. Additionally, they neglect to add the foods that are actually good for them such as fruits and veggies into their diets. This post is right on point about the nutrition aspects that are needed to assist with managing the disease. Post a comment
