It is very much important for a diabetic to check what food is good for him and what not. A diabetic should regulate his diabetic menu plan so as to keep the blood sugar level in control. Each and every menu plan either for diabetic or for normal person includes 40-60% of calories from carbohydrates, 30% or less from fats and 20% from proteins. Here, I am going to mention some foods with carbohydrates, proteins and fats provided with low calorie content.
To control the blood sugar level effectively, a diabetic should re-evaluate his diabetes menu plan time-to-time. He should have vegetables and fruits as they are rich in fiber content. Vegetables for diabetic menu is a necessary & important part, the vegetables which are beneficial in diabetes are onion, spinach, garlic, ginger, tomato, cucumber, cabbage, spinach, kale, radish and carrot. Sprouted Moong and kidney beans work outstandingly in controlling the blood glucose level. In fruits, a diabetic can have guava, citrus fruits, kiwi fruit, Indian blackberry, fig, apples, permanganate fruit etc. It is also advised to eat cooked unripe banana. It is recommended that the person with diabetes should not take more than a small glass of fruit juice even with the meals as it is a great source of fructose (a type of sugar). There are lots more foods which a diabetes can have but the point which should be kept in mind is that “eat right in right quantity”.
