To control blood sugar level effectively a person should follow the amalgam of diabetic menu plan, exercise and medication. Keeping the genetic aberrations aside, obesity is another major risk factor for diabetes of type -2. Obesity is mainly caused because of fat rich diets and absence of exercise in lifestyle. Diabetes is spreading like wildfire across western region.

By following Vegan diabetes menu plan, you can easily cut off high calorie foods and saturated fats present in animal laden. It provides essential minerals and vitamins. A vegan diabetic diet includes vegetables, fruits, whole grains and legumes.

Fibers prove very helpful in controlling blood sugar level. Presence of fiber rich food can easily cut the necessity of having more food as fibers helps in controlling blood sugar by slowing the process of digestion. Fibers are beneficial for pre-diabetics as well as reduce the demand of insulin for diabetics with type-1 diabetes. It is recommended to have at least nine servings of vegetable and food group and up to six servings of whole grains.

You should not think that if you have diabetes you have to sacrifice your taste and favorites. You can have whatever you want to, but under supervision of your health care provider only. Luckily, there are various recipes and enormous range of foods for the diabetics. You may take time to learn how to cook healthy but once you have learnt you will appreciate it. Also, there may be some problems in beginning while going vegan from non-vegan as the body will adjust gradually to the changing food.
